On 25 November 1942 at the height of the Battle of Stalinggrad, Hitler created a new incentive for his fottsoldiers i the from of the "Nahkampfsprange". In silver was for thirty close-combat days respectiverly, combat days were reckoned as from 1 December 1942, and had to involved actul hand-to-hand cmbat on foot, whether in attack or defence.
